If you produce wastes that we are unable to handle - we can often advise about possible recycling methods or suggest an appropriate company to solve these problems.

SCRAP BATTERY TREATMENT

Our site licence allows us to buy and store scrap lead acid batteries. These are kept in sealed bins in a designated area of the site. Once there is sufficient to fill a sealed skip the batteries are loaded and delivered to the smelter.

Current legislation requires that we have a hazardous waste registration number and that anyone supplying us is also registered. Consignment notes are required for each movement of batteries and vehicles transporting batteries need to belong to a company having a Waste Carriers Licence and suitably qualified (ADR) drivers. The current legislation can be quite involved and we can advise customers on any aspect of battery recycling.
